The work shown on this site is a result of my long-standing interest and involvement with clay as a basic starting point for my art practice, and reflects my good fortune to have worked very closely with art of all eras and from many cultures.

I’m interested in making “things”, objects made in clay. Ceramic objects have been critical in human survival through their use in the storage of food and the making of durable shelter. They have also been, and remain, critical in human culture in both ritual and metaphorical use. It is in this vein of the ceramic tradition that I am presently most interested.
